Normal fast operation to slow garbled mess

Hi,

For some reason I can't narrow down Winuae has gone from working fast and as it should be to a laggy, sound distorting mess. I could understand it if it was just one config that I had messed up but its doing it on every single config.

The emulated cpu runs at 150-200% at all times, the FPS is stuck at 30fps no matter what. I have changed literally nothing anywhere. I don't get what has happened or why it is interfering with all my configs? Which leads me to believe its a problem with Winuae itself and not the configs?

Had a play and found switching to DirectDraw sorts it out, so maybe a problem with Directx?

What happens if you switch to DirectX and resort to one of inbuilt configs?

Same thing, which is why I think its a winuae issue and not a configuration one.

Probably some driver update or bad config + driver update or forced vsync or dozens of other possible reasons.

Run winuae, tick paths panel full logging, boot to your config that is misbehaving, wait 5 seconds or so. F12, Paths panel, Save all. Attach the zip file.

Its not just one config its winuae, even in Amiga forever its doing it, nothing has changed on my system, was working fine this morning, closed it went back to using it and its messed up and I have no idea why.

It is almost certainly something Windows related if multiple WinUAE versions suddenly run very badly.

Perhaps some background driver update?

- Switch off sound: any change?
- Move winuae window to other display?
- Same in fullscreen?
- Without game controllers? (probably not related if switching to directdraw fixes it)

- Switch off sound: any change? None
- Move winuae window to other display? No change
- Same in fullscreen? Yes, exactly the same in fullscreen
- Without game controllers? (probably not related if switching to directdraw) Yeah no change.

This is really bizarre no other directX application has the same problem, normal windows games work fine, other emulators work fine. Its just winuae.
-Edit-
Running RTG works fine, its the normal Amiga display thats the problem. Which makes this thing even weirder than it has any rights to be.

Things I would try:
- disable Subpixel display emulation
- Board type New UAE (128k, ROM, Direct)
- 32-bit Chip 0 MB
- Double buffering
- Native filter set to "none"

Ok so formatted and reinstalled windows, low and behold everything is now fine. That was some weird experience but something was borked big time.

All is fixed, thanks for the suggestions.
