I received a switch from Ratte a few weeks back also. I have installed it in my A4000 to combine the Indivision and CyberVision outputs, and it has worked out well.
In the photo you can see how it has been set up; the cable with the black mesh cover comes from the graphics card and the grey flat one from the Indivision. The switch also grabs some signals from the CIA that I ended up soldering directly on. Ratte did provide a socket to use, but they seem to be really really brittle and at least mine broke before being even close to pushed down. The signals could also be grabbed from the parallel port, this would probably be preferable as soldering directly on the chips is always a little risky. But in the end all I now have in the back panel is a single VGA port that provides output from both graphics systems. I have uploaded a video clip on YouTube showing a few games run with WHDLoad to demonstrate the switching: ![]() Nice work, Ratte! |

Eh, I can see a PicassoIV. Why did you need a monitor switcher as a P4 has an integrated monitor switcher?

...mainly because I wanted an Indivision for my A4000 and because of its scanline emulation.

Ah, you could probably exchange your PIV for a CV64 and make a few bucks.

Ratte my friend this is really nice of you! Your hard work spread in the community is always an awesome thing!
I'll try and translate the whole procedure from a1k.org and send it via PM here for you to attach it in the reserved space! /respect

If you have a tft monitor with both vga and dvi connections, do you still need a device like Ratte's for the monitor to know it needs to change from one cable to the other?
My thinking was just use both cables into the tft and into each RTG card and Indi board. Would this work? If not, I would like to declare interest in one too Ratte ![]() |
