Problems with cursor keys

Hello all

I've been looking through old threads, but without luck - so I'm gonna give it a go here.

I am using WinUAE 1.4.5 and have been playing Speedball 2 and Sensible World of Soccer (among others). I always set keys for option B (cursor and right ctrl), but in both mentioned games when you run down and right (diagonal) you cannot fire.... I've tried changing the options - swapping ports and so forth, but nothing helps.

I actually owned SWOS on PC too, and the same problem occured....

Hi, wrong section.

Redefine keys, or use a different keyboard. Your keyboard is unable to read that particular key combination.

This has been the case with many different keyboards - incl. three different laptops.

I cannot see a place to redefine keys?

For your info. about the problem:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollover_%28key%29

In Winuae properties go to Hosts/Input
In place of Compatibility mode, select configuration #1
In place of mouse, select keyboard.

Select the key you want to redefine to (input source) in the list below.
And in the drop down menu below select the desired action (joy2 left/right etc... in your case).

If you are going to play some games with intense diagonal movements (eg diagonal jumping while shooting), I strongly advise you to use the numeric keyboard and assign the diagonals too, not only up down left right.

And if you play games needing a lot more buttons to be pressed simultaneously (FPS, figthing games via emulators) you can buy a gamepad (like Ideazon's Fang), which would allow you to have, when used in conjunction with the keyboard, an input device for movement and another for fire buttons.

Maybe some recent keyboards can do the trick. Maybe a joypad can do the trick too.
