Yes, it is, but there's still 'Missing in Action' written in HOL!
Guys, get to work!

Guys, get to work!
But "Missing In Action" doesn't always mean Missing In Action. Very often it means we just haven't gotten to grabbing screens yet. I've only gotten back to my normal schedule now since Monday, but I am not yet back in the groove. The games that need screens continues to pile up in addition to the pile that was already there. You of all people should know how time consuming HOL updating can be. And with screens, it means configuring, loading, playing, grabbing, converting, resizing, making DBS, checking ID name, uploading, and renamer/checker. For EACH game, so hours can get blown away with what appears on the surface to be a minimal update. And when this has to be done in between work, sleep, and life, sometimes the workload gets a bit deferred. But as I said, I will be back in full swing maybe even tonight.

And I did catch your smilies, so I know you didn't mean this in a derogatory manner, I was just explaining all this for those that might have read that and might possibly be misled by the amount of MIA screens in HOL. It's time consuming stuff and takes a lot of effort to knock that wall of games down, especially as it expands quicker than it deflates...

Not the latter for me.
I use WinUAE with 320x256 windowed / lo-res / Normal / H & V centering on and I don't have to resize the screenshots, keeping their original image quality that way

Two points here:

1) I have no choice; when I use that screenmode in WinUAE, it chops off part of the left side of the screen. I have no idea why, all I know is screens missing a good chunk from one side are useless to me, so I have to grab screens larger in order to do this period.

2) If grabbing screens is so easy for you, why don't you start grabbing some? My slow-ass PII with its corrupted hard drive trying to cache swap files running these apps (WinUAE, Photoshop, Opera) all at once takes not only a long time, but trashes my current session. It's miserable, but the screens have to be done. There's tons of games missing screens in HOL. I could have added 25 games to HOL this morning, but with doing the screens too I ended up only adding 5. (sigh)

On a different note, related to this morning's new game entries, I added the game Alert X...according to the cracktro, the game is Polish. But the text in the game (little that there was) was in English, so I listed it as such. Is this the only version? I would guess it is.

BTW: it kinda looks like it was written with XCK[SIZE=SMALL]*.

Well, I know it originates from Poland, but I am asking if there is a version that has Polish text in it, as the version I have features text in English.

And I was just kidding about XCK; it doesn't exist.

contribute

I would like to contribute with screens of the game that is currently unavailable through TOSEC - polish card game "Karciarz". I've got a .adf rip of this game, but it has lame "guru" welcome message, filled highscore list and changed MOD files.
Karciarz ("Card Player") provides 4 different card games: 358, Kierki (Hearts variation), Wist and Tysiac ("1000"). It's solely a singleplayer game - you are playing against 2 computer players - one weaker and one stronger.

Sorry - i can't attach .zip file to this post. I may send those screens via email - please give me an address.

Hi gal_vnv - thanks for the contributions.

You can upload files in a few different ways:

The Zone - see the buttons at the top right hand corner of this webpage. The Zone is a temporary storage section.

HOL FTP - there is an FTP for contributing to the HOL:

Address = abime.net
Port = 21
U = hol
Password = incoming

Email - my email address is cody@abime.net

Can you also upload the ADF too? Thanks!

I know that Janusz Christa is the creator of the comic that the Amiga game is based on, but is "Janusz Christa" the same person as "Janusza Christy"?

Was Kajko i Kokosz published by Seven Stars or developed by them or both?

What year was the Amiga game published?

Do you know in what year the comic Kajko i Kokosz was created by Janusz Christa?
"Janusza Christy" means exactly the same as "Janusz Christa". There are 2 different grammar forms of the name (Polish language uses gerund declension).

The game "Kajko & Kokosz" was developed by Seven Stars (company founded by ex-members of ASF SC. - one of the most famous polish 8-bit Atari developers). It has been published by the same company. Amiga version has been released in november or december of 1994.

The "Kajko i Kokosz" is a comic serie. First comic strips was published in late 50s in a daily newspaper "Dziennik Baltycki" (Baltic Daily).
"Kajko i Kokosz" is a serie, which took place in medieval Poland. There is also marine and space version ("Kajtek i Koko"). There is a lot of "book" editions of both series published in 70s and 80s. BTW - "Kajko i Kokosz" is very similliar to "Asterix & Obelix".
I've got a large collection of scanned polish comics so I'm able to send you an "example".

Check this out:
http://serwis-komiksowy.pl/index.php...usz&kat=tworcy

And at last - the game has DOUBLE copy protection. Every pirated version hangs in the middle of the game - there is a lack of one item. So beware

Hehe...I could have confirmed it if I'd known you needed such. I used to surf the Polish shops online, which is how I became aware of this game in the first place (and a handful of others). It doesn't appear anybody ever cracked it, however. I have the day off and am working on my MIA restore, so I'm curious to see what's in my Polish folder (since I never finished merging that info into the MIA list.)

We completely forgot about including it into HOL. DOH!

BTW, I'd also like to find Skarb Templariuszy, a very well-done adventure. Twist uploaded one (ONE!) dbs back in 2003 and as we know, soon disappeared from this earth. Maybe I can get a bit further and grab some screenshots. TIA!
