Right CTRL as fire
Hi Toni
First of all thanks for this emulator, it really works great So, this one is just a suggestion of something that could be implemented for the next release I taken the idea from WinVICE In that emulator, indeed, the fire button is triggered by the Right CTRL key I found this choice better the one used by WinUAE In this way the two hands are more separated Instead with the 0 or 5 keys as fire buttons, you are forced to keep the hands very close and that can be not so practice as choice So, my final request is to replace the 0 and 5 keys with the Right CTRL key as the default behaviour of WinUAE emulated joystick Thanks for the attention, chip |

In my opinion the default keys should be WASD with 0 button for fire. This is something no one will ever agree on.

...what a weird request chip.
You do know that you can set "Keyboard Layout B" for "Port 2"? This way the fire buttons are as follows: 1st Fire Button = <Right Crtl> or <Right Alt> 2nd Fire Button = <Right Shift> |

It was just an idea, copying what is already done on another emulator
Anyway, it seems that it is not appreciated, so i guess it will remain in the wish list |

Defaults that have been unchanged for ages won't be changed just because other emulator's defaults are different.
EDIT: because there are at least 10 different opinions which defaults are so called best.. Last edited by Toni Wilen; 15 June 2018 at 12:40. |
