Amiga early startup menu keyboard shortcuts
Hi, I had an unfortunate incident with my dog. She chewed my three Amiga mouses
So using the keyboard I went to the early sartup menu, and all I want is to enter in the Expansion boards submenu to check if all my zorro boards are okay. Is there a keyboard shortcut that will allow me to enter there? Thanks in advance |

Solved
Many thanks to Rebel-CD32 for the solution: ..."Just hold the Amiga key and use the arrow keys to move the cursor. It might switch between PAL and NTSC each time you hit a key, but it'll do the job. Amiga +Left Alt for Left Mouse Button. "... |

How do you access the Early startup menu using just the keyboard?

Before OS3.9, there is no keyboard shortcut (if my memory doesn't fail me). With the 3.9 updated boot menu it's by holding help down when you reboot.

Jope:
So what you are saying is, that with the boot from KS 3.1 there is no keyboard intervention, but after a BootRomUpdate in 3.9 there is a resident bit of code that allows the 'Help' key to act as 2-button mouse override. Then if you don't use the Rom update file, you still have the problem?

Pretty much yes.. The bit of code is in the updated early startup menu itself.

I have a 3.9 custom made kickstart rom.
I was so desperate to see if my Amiga was okay that I pressed all keys and tryed all combinations, until I got there (the bootmenu). I am sorry for my non scientific method Using the method Rebel-CD32 described I was able to enter the Expansion Diagnostics menu. I checked and was fortunate everything was fine. My dog is a 3 month puppy that loves to chew cables. There is nothing terribly wrong with her, she is just a tireless and curious puppy (arent they all?). Anyway, after the incident, I sprayed all house cables with a non toxic dog smell repellent substance I bought in the vet and now she avoids them. I hope the new mouse I bought arrives today |

OK, so this doesn't work, basically, on any standard Amiga. Thanks for the clarification.
