Yeah, the list is not that big but it does contain several of the ones that I remember from my youth. One of my favorites is the one from Pinball Fantasies (due to the music).

Thanks BrooksterMax! I had to look up what a "cracktro" was, I'd never heard of it and thought you guys were pulling my leg, haha!

I'm just going through all the advice now. There are a few options I need to look in to. I'll post back shortly with an update and any further questions.

I'm trying to get my head around what a gotek floppy emulator does and how it works/connects to an amiga in practice.

I think the A1200 route will need a working floppy drive so I've got the option to do things with my floppy disks (if they're working) , a CF card for storage, and the floppy emulator to transfer files between amiga and PC via USB stick.

If I do need a floppy drive, will it need cleaning / servicing, surely after all this time it might damage any disks I put in?

It's usually the other way round - dirty floppies will leave dirt on the heads of the floppy drive so it cannot read any disks any more (until you clean it).

I was really kinda lost for a few hours when I really got into the nitty gritty.
The good news is that AmigaOS has aged well and kinda makes sense.

Stuff like, if you drag something to the C: directory, you can execute it from command line without needing to type in C: you can just type the name of the program.

Drag? That sort of stuff should be done from the CLI. Quicker, easier, and much less chance of making an error.
