Indeed, we need more threads like that, or even not "interactive" like this one, I'd love to see someone play something, name the characters after the happi folks from EAB and post everything he does with screenies and stuff, see here for example, one of the best threads like that in the interwebz

Pardon teh OT john

No, it's only fun if it's interactive, but I really don't like to see gaming blogs... We already have 'What are you playing?', that should be enough.

Btw., everyone may now decide whether Thorin should look for treasure or hidden doors/traps.

If someone shouldn't explicitly post "look for hidden doors/traps" (H) in the following steps I'll just look for treasure per default (thus EEEEE will then equal EEEEE+T...).

The one deciding now for gimbal won't have to pause for the next decision...

@Shoonay: There are similar threads to the one posted by you over at pspuae.com (I think someone plays Dungeon Master with the names of 4 users of the PSPUAE-forums).
But I also prefer "interactivity"...

I think he should get closer to the dwarf, so SSSSS and then WWWWWW (how many squares has the room anyway? not sure if I got dwarfs location right)

is there a point to look for hidden things twice in the same room? do the characters differ as for perception skill?

The Ws didn't make sense - so I just moved 5xS to the next screen. Elrond still has 6 movement-points left.

Note that you can open a door if you're standing besides it without losing points - but enemies inside the room can see you then...

Take a look at this map to get an idea where Elrond can move now:

And looking twice in the same room for hidden doors/traps is unnecessary. If it's there it will be found...

P.S. Anyone may finish incomplete turns without having to pause the next...

oh, now I see (thought they all were inside large hall but it appears that the yellow stripe is corridor not wall ) If I still have a go then SSSSWW (I dont think its good idea to penetrate rooms alone).

Okay. Since you didn't search for hidden doors/traps I looked for treasure and found 50 gold for Elrond:

Now it's our fire-mage Mithrandir's turn. He rolled a 6:

What shall he do?

What is range within which a character searches for treasures/doors? Is it the range of sight?

It's the area you see in the isometric view (which probably is inconsistent with the original board game...).

Mithrandir's search attracted a monster:

And so the first fight began. The wizard got lucky and could fully defend:

After ending the turn the orc ran away to safety:

Now it's Targhan's turn again. He rolled a 4:

I stopped here because of this door:

There is 1 movement point left. Opening the door (O) is free at this point (monsters behind it might attack after your turn if you open it).

So now you could do:
- ET (leaving the door closed)
- OET (opening the door, but proceeding further to the east)
- ST (opening the door and entering the room)
- only OT
- only T
- W (moving back which would be rather useless...)

What's it gonna be?

Although humble worm didn't make a mistake anyone may finish his turn (without having to pause afterwards) since he's currently offline.

Found out in the manual the wizard does get 3 elements and the elf 1:

Another info: instead of moving and then searching you can also search first and then move.
You can't move, search and then continue to move, though.

P.S. The same holds true for attacking and casting spells, I guess. So you can attack and then move or move and then attack. And you can cast a spell and then move or move and then cast a spell...
