How to use this KS switcher?
I feel a little embarassed asking this, I cannot recall how to trigger the ROM switching on this A2000.
The small board has 2.0 and 1.3 (default is 2.0) and I'm sure at some point I succeded in switching the RAMs blindly trying keys and mouse buttons... but I can't recall the fatality combo to do it again. Tried LMB, RMB, CTRL-LeftAmiga+RightAmiga for up to 10 seconds, both Amiga keys with either Alt, CTRL, ESC, any fricking combination I could think of! :-) TIA |

this looks identical to a, ESI: KA015 LC.
unfortunatley i cant remember if it works by a key press at startup probabley a single key like the amiga key or a number.or even if it can be done with a toggle switch. normaly these where connected via one wire to either the denise or gary i think. |

However, you gave me an important hint: I know the guy who posted the picture on the BBOAH, so I'll track him down for details and the manual :-) By the way, he wrote on USENET that LMB will do the switch... but it's not working in my case. I hope it didn't stop working all of a sudden :-\ I'll investigate the matter... Thanks!! EDIT: oh fml what's wrong with me, I'm such an idiot. The switch can only happen with a cold start, not a warm reboot ... Last edited by jman; 27 November 2011 at 14:47. |

http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=23052 I'm wondering if this would fit my other A2000 (equipped with KS 3.1). My idea would be to have an A2000 with KS 1.3+3.1 Is it possible? Are any KS switcher suitable to any Amiga? Thanks! |

Yes, that kick switcher can be used with the A2000.
As a rule, if you come by a kick switcher in this time and age, it will work just fine in either an A500, an A600 or an A2000. Kick switchers for 32bit ROM Amigas are quite rare, I only know of the Mikronik A1200 kick switcher that can take one 32bit ROM set and two additional 16bit ROMs. |
