Umm.... tryed it. It works here!
It takes you to the XADmaster page where you need to select the appropiate version according to your processor and download the clients & the keyfile of course.

Well, here's something you probably know already - it doesnt work on 68000, at least on my minimig it simply fails to load

And here's another one... amigaguide.datatype 45.6 also crashes on 68000, allthough 45.5 works just fine. Even though 3.9 never was meant to support 68000, quite alot of the components do, and it's somewhat annoying when it's left out of the change notes when 68000 support is removed. Or perhaps people just arent aware

I'm pondering on setting up a table with all OS3.x components, revisions and requirements... hm.

I've seen this expression before...

If someone can explain what 'boing bag' is supposed to mean, please do so in PM, I am but an apprentice when it comes to the English language...

@kolla

This list of software is an unofficial AmigaOS3.9 Boing Bag #3 (this is in Microsoft Windows terms like an unofficial Service Pack for that particular Amiga Operating system). The minimum requirements to use AmigaOS 3.9 clearly state that you need at least a 68020 processor.
So your complaints about 68000 incompatibilities are a little bit out of place.
Good luck anyway!

@Photon

Sorry i couldnt resist

....
Well, that's a feature and not a bug! My libs and patches are always optimized for 68020+.

Please, ask Ratte and Doobrey for a copy of their v45.5 and then use IconBeFast to patch it. You will get v45.5.5 and that's the only exception where I substituted two 68020 instructions in IconBeFast with their 68000 equivalents. There's no speedloss because these instructions don't belong to the main loops. Just one additional remark: v45.5.5 still needs 2 kByte stack for its cache. Please use Minstack or StackAttack and in some rare cases you will even have to increase the stacksize manually. For example, when you try to load PlayCD automatically from CacheCDFS then edit the stacksize of the DosDrivers entry like CD0 from 600 to 4000 or the CD loading will freeze.

I wasnt complainging about the incompatibilities per se, I'm complaing about the lack of explicit notion about it. There's a difference. The updated Multiview works OK also 68000, even though the updated amigaguide.datatype doesnt. It's not obvious for anyone when the 68000 "support" is removed, it just happens unnotified.

There used to be a website or a bit of software for the Amiga which had all the versions of libraries and datatypes etc. etc. both official OS and essential 3rd party. Anyone know if there still is such a thing today? Even it is not 100% upto date?

Well this is not website, is just a post in a forum with current information.
That page is a thorough technical description, for of course, those technically inclined but, unluckily it is outdated.
It would be great if that web page could be updated with the information we have over here.

OK, I've just made a patch to create icon.library 45.5 against icon.library 45.1 (from OS 3.9).
http://www.doobreynet.co.uk/files/amiga/icon45.5.pch

IIRC, it was based on icon 45.4, had a couple of 020+ instructions replaced,and the default icon settings changed to match OS 3.1 (under instruction from Herr Ratte)

Thanks Doobrey & Ratte for your work on icon.library 45.5.
I have 2 questions for you:

Please confirm me if this library features IconBeFast like functionality/capable and if it is romable.

Then which icon.library do people think we should put in Boing Bag 3? 46.4a from PeterK or 45.5 from Doobrey & Ratte?

Boing Bag #3 updated again

New version of appp.device added (3.4)!
Added icon.library 45.5 (45.5 & 46.4a are there for you to make your choice)!

45.5 was made romable.(IIRC, it saved utilitybase inside its data section!)
But since it was based on 45.4, there's no IconBeFast patch in it. I don't think IconBeFast even existed at the time 45.5 was made.

IconBeFast does support 45.5 though.

Easy.. use Peters.
IMHO,45.5 is pointless unless you use a 68000 and run WB3.1
