CF 4GB not recognized

I am trying to install Workbench 3.1 via UAE to a 4gb Transcend (133x) CF card. It doesn't get recognized as IDE0 so I use the uaehf tooltype, but when clicking Read Configuration in HDToolBox I get "Unit not recognized (type 32)", and it says that it's 20mb. Is there any other tool to use instead of HDToolBox or is the card unsuitable for this task?

Did you use Diskpart to clean all Windoze partitions off the card?

Also sometimes the card reader can cause issues, try another if you have one.

Yup, wiped out everything using diskpart's clean command... Might be the reader, will try to find the one I prepped the other card with

Good luck!

Failing that partition in a real Amiga then move back to UAE for the install

If it wont work in a real Amiga it's probably not compatible. Transcend normally are but they can change the spec of the cards at any time.

Card is still empty/unpartitioned, tried in the PCMCIA reader and HDToolBox won't see it at all (A1200/KS3.0/WB3.0)...

EDIT: Will try SanDisk's utility to (try to) set card to fixed mode and see if anything changes

If it is the same tool I tried (ATCFWCHG), it probably won't work. It was made for the old controllers, I think for 256MB cards or smaller.

Also, the tool will only run on DOS machines with the CF card connected to an onboard IDE port using a IDE-CF adapter.
