i have 4 68030 50s for me, thats it, i not going to bother selling them, the files will be posted if they are good, if you buy 25 blanks cost would be less than $5 each. If people make and gouge people then i will sell and undercut them
this is meant to be available for everyone, not a get rich quick scheme |

I meant just charging for boards+components plus a labour fee for building them, the processors can be sourced by buyers. I understand you're in a bad place atm with Vampire but it'd be nice if someone could offer them for those who aren't confident soldering.

I will wait and see what prices other people offer them for. I have my idea of a fair price, and selling without a cpu is prob the best solution. Lets face it, the cost of parts are not high

Parts might be cheap but personally I'd be happy to pay a decent labour fee to make it worthwhile for someone to build them, it's not I'm asking someone to do slave labour for the community.
It's just getting annoying that so many projects are DIY only and people like me with the soldering skills of an elephant miss out on excellent hardware. |

Mick I am shipping a few prebuilt units at 25 Mhz, just waiting for those damn cpu connectors to arrive from China. Note that you still need to be able to solder the INT2 wire yourself.

I already have a 68030 is it possible for you to sell without the processors? or do you mean the board is programmed to support 25mhz? I've not followed the thread as much as I should because it just makes me depressed knowing it was out of reach. btw what did kipper mean with his redesign when he said "case will now close"? you can't close the case with current versions? It will need relocating to use the IDE interface. Or a pin swapped IDE cable and solder the IDE cable upside down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sure that might not work if you have a 68882 socket installed, but if you leave that vacant could you use a 90 degree over the board ? I can understand now the move to SATA on the TF534, lower profile than Pin Header. Last edited by whiteb; 08 July 2017 at 00:20. |

Terrible Fire Accelerators
That helps but it need relocation too. The keyboard comes right down on the board. My focus with the TF530s was function... rather than form because while prototyping I needed cheap. We need to think A bit more about the form factor now

Hmmmmmm, I don't want to end up like Mr. Flibble with a stack of boards. Maybe if I use Eagle to put 2 IDE ports on a board, and just pin swap between them, then the problem of the pin numbers inverting underneath the TF530 go away..., Invert them back. Its messy but should work. |
