How to install LHA-files from aminet

Hi guys

I'm running stock WB3.1 on an Amiga 1200. I'm still "re"-learning how to use the Amiga and now I'm stuck at installing LHA-files.

I have downloade Term from Aminet: http://aminet.net/package/comm/term/Term
But how on earth do you install it?

Hi,
Assuming you don't have a hard disk, you have to download and unpack Lha(http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/lha) to a disk or RAM: and run it, something like: lha x (path/name of archive)

you need to install lha (http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/lha) into c directory of your workbench disk.
in order to see c folder, you need to navigate to workbench menu > window > show files > show all files.

if you unpack lha to ram:, it's not installed, only temporarily and gone after you shut down your amiga.

LHA files are archive files just like Zip, RAR, Tar, etc. You need a program to unarchive them.

1) Download and copy this to your Amiga: http://aminet.net/util/arc/lha.run (it's a self-extracting LHA archive, which contains the actual LHA programs for differecnt CPUs)

2) Open the shell and cd into the dir you have the "lha.run" file. Run the file by typing: lha.run

3) As you have A1200, a safe bet is to install 020 version to your system. Type in the shell: Copy lha_68020 C:lha

4) Now you can unarchive any LHA archive by typing: lha x archive.lha destinationdir (for example: lha x term.lha ram: )
