Can't get Myth or Mega-lo-mania to work

I'm pretty mew to this and have just about got my WinUAE working now, thanks to some of you guys, and have spent much of the last week in a darkened room playing all my old games again.

There are two that I can't get to work though, on pretty much any setting I try - Mega-lo-Mania and Myth-History In The Making.

I've checked out other posts and Mega-lo-Mania seems to cause a few problems but most people have it working, can't see much on Myth though.

Can anyone help? I've tried all the different adf files that seem to be out there.

Thanks.

I've just tried Myth - it works fine using the newest version WinUAE with the basic A500 configuration (1.3 ROM, OCS, 512 Kb Chip + 512 Kb Slow RAM).

I think I have the game version "Myth history in the making (1992)(system 3)(disk 1 of 3)[cr csl][t +31 lsd]".

I've just uploaded my version to the Zone. It must be good, since I recently completed the game using it.

I found that the only way i could get it to run was using WHDLoad on my a1200... even the originals would be touch and go... and thats even with the CPU cache's off

mind you it could of been the floppy drive.

Hmm, I tried the files in the Zone - it goes through all the Cheats pages and then keeps resetting itself. I'm on the default settings.

For a start, any old muppet can put information into Wikipedia. Wikipedia has to be the most unreliable source of information on the planet.

Secondly, the copy protection on Mega-Lo-Mania was MFM tracks and Rob Northen Copylock, and I can assure you that neither were hard to beat.

As for checking out your link about good manners.... I suggest you take your own advice, because looking at some of the things you've posted thus far on EAB, your in seriously short supply!

Oh, and feel free to revist your Mega-Lo-Mania Wikipedia entry, I think you'll find someone more qualified to offer an opinion has updated the copy protection part of the page!

Didn't mean to start any wars here...

I know these games are working for other people, including presumably from the files that bolch uploaded, which at the moment I can't get to work either. I just don't have the experience (or possibly the intelligence!) yet to get these things working when they need something more than the basic settings.

Did you use the settings that Bolch gave you?

Some games are very fussy on the settings they need to operate.

Laser: Galahad has more than proved his abilities at game cracking, instead of disrespecting him why don't you listen and stop being a dick!

I have completed the FAIRLIGHT crack of this game (In 1991) and it worked perfectly then as it will now if the right HARDWARE is used..

Now please go away before I deal with you properly!

You're a little hotshot, laser. I played the Fairlight crack on my A500 back in time, and never had any problems with it. You probably have emulation & configuration problems or broken disk images.

Wikipedia cannot EVER be considered a bona fide 100% correct source for anything, there is little if no validation of any information entered.

As for being an old member of Fairlight, if you doubt it, then more fool you.

And the game is 100% cracked correctly, this is an undisputed FACT. Any errors or problems with this game are to do with the original programming.

Did someone just edit that Wikipedia entry? (Ahh yes they did)

The previous entry said almost nothing about the strength of the copy protection (and being unable to copy an original disk using a normal drive is not necessary a big deal). Unique doesn't have to mean hard to crack.
