That's a cool site, I like the section with the level maps (HOL doesn't have maps of this game yet).
Interesting seeing how different the levels are in the MSX version.

By the way, regarding the first Rick Dangerous, I always thought the version allowing you to select levels was some kind of trained version, but it turns out it's the budget release of the game (sorry if everyone knows this already!).
That's pretty cool, makes the game a lot more fair, like Rick 2.

Hehe, well I have the impression the HOL maps are ripped from the games, and I wouldn't have a clue how to do that.
The best I could do would be taking screenshots and 'gluing' them together in Paint... and I don't think that would be good enough!

The maps on this site are good though, maybe they could be used on HOL..?
Maybe someone should ask permission from the site owner.

I am sure some of our experts will soon post to tell you more about it.

In my eyes, the issue is:
"I have used the Atari ST versions to make the maps with"
even if:
" - PC and Amiga graphics are identical. "

So putting those in the gamemap tab of the games is out of question.
However, perhaps it can be considered to put them in the miscshot tab. At least until we get gamemaps from the Amiga version.

I'd like to get the opinion of some core HOL members on the matter, as I don't remember any similar case.

If they are OK, then I will contact the website author, hoping he is still around (last message from 2008 from what I could see)

The HOL maps made by the "real" map rippers look far nicer because they don't have the sprites all through them.

I'm nitpicking here but the Atari ST colour palette only goes from $000 to $777, so the colours will not match up perfectly with the Amiga version.

I see... but maybe it could be an idea to put them in the miscshot section, as lilalurl suggested?
I think that would be a good idea, these are pretty cool to have available, despite not being perfect.

No need, I have worked out how the game stores the data and have ripped the maps. The tedious part is now slicing it into sections as the game has the levels in one huge thin vertical strip and when you move off to the side it jumps to another part of the map.
