Still able to get the fabled PPC for A1200?
Hi all,
I'm in the process of getting my Amiga back together. Yes, I love WinUAE and will use it on my laptop every day but I want to get my old hardware back. However, is it still possible to get the BlizzardPPC accelerator for the A1200? I've had a search but can`t seem to find one anywhere. cheers in advance! |

Keep watching, that is actually very very cheap compared to what the auction will end at.

You can still write to Efunzine and ask about availability. Two days ago i asked them about the same thing and the reply i got was positive. That's what Martin wrote to me:
"Yes, I have PPC cards for A1200: BlizzardPPC 603e/175 @ 040/25 - 279 euro BlizzardPPC 603e+/240 @ 040/25 SCSI - 449 euro BlizzardPPC 603e/240(200) @ 040/40 - 419 euro The second is really perfect, with the box. The last one is overclocked from 200 MHz but works stable. 040 cpu is changed and not overclocked. I have also a memory working with these cards." I suppose that the first option, even without SCSI is a decent one. And we all know very well that it has always been at least expensive to affor a PPC so prepare yourself for sth not really cheap. Recently i bought a PPC from Scrappyshpinx so i don't need Efunzine for the time being. |

Hey RabidRabbit,
there is currently a guy over on amiga.org looking to sell a BPPC and Bvision gfx card. He doesn't state a price so i don't know what he wants for it but thought it may be of interest to you. Link |

Hi guys,
I am tempted now to get rid of my own machine here - I've got a Blizzard PPC that was upgraded by Per Gunnar from an 040 to an 060 and whilst it is absolutely fantastic, I never really get the time to use it properly, and now with me moving to the USA in 2 months or so, it is getting more and more difficult to justify keeping the setup. I would be tempted to split it up, but I have no idea how much is reasonable for this card - given that I just spent £100 about a month ago, upgrading the 040 to an 060. I would also like to see the fully working BlizzardVision go with it. It seems that Blizzard 040 went for £350 on ebay there, with the persons BlizzardVision going for £72 roughly. I'll throw it open to the floor to see whats reasonable. Cheers Crispy |

Its only the 160Mhz version - I couldn't afford the faster one at the time. However, the amount of PowerPC software I run is very minimal and found that the 060 made most of the difference.
