Decent game, quite enjoyable but I think Banshee is better.

The problem with Battle Squadron is that the main sprite is such a sitting duck, because its just too big!! .. I almost feel as though i am flying a Bus
And oh yeah, it timed out when i was entering my name so it ended up being B8A 549,800 |

@blade: I suggest you use the PAL-version of this game which has a 28% larger playfield (see first post). Then the proportions are way better...

Thanks for the pointer (probably explains why the sprites are screwed up on WinUAEX) I've downloaded the ADF you've linked in page 1

Even with the PAL version I still think that the ship is too big and too slow

I find the game a real bitch because of this reason and i hate the idea of "hit with 1 bullet, instant death!, aka R-Type". I have already given up on Battle Squadron due to these reasons because rather than enjoy it, all i find is that i am infuriated with the game! Actually when i first played the game in about 1990 and i know probably played it only a couple of times and never played it again, and when it came into this competition i was left wondering "why is that!?". Now i "know" why i gave up on it 18 years ago. I will just be focusing on Banshee. |

As for R-type: atleast you can get the shield and throw it to the front or back of your ship to protect you from just about anything. |
