Ide Ssd
If i am correct, i could unplug my IDE-CF adapter and plug this IDE SSD-drive in my short IDE cable..., and Bob's my unkle!
http://www.centralpoint.nl/flashgehe...FVDMtAodbxQAsg Question 1. Will Bob really become my unkle... (will this work?) or... Question 2. Is this really better/more reliable than a good >4Gb CF-card? |

Should work fine. I have also bought a similar SSD, although just 16GB, for my 1200.
Regarding reliability, I don't really know which is better. It all depends on the quality of the flash cells and the wear leveling algorithms used in the two. I don't think that CF drives are designed to run as system drives though, but then again, is anyone using their Amiga heavily today, e.g. as a busy server for something? |

Should work. Might be better off buying a 1.8" ide ssd though if you haven't already bought one. Do you really need 32gb though? That is a lot for an Amiga computer. I just bought two 1.8" form factor ide ssd drives, 1 is 8gb and the other is 16gb. I think I will struggle to fill them up.

I am still waiting to receive it, so haven't actually tried it yet. I expect to use PFS3-AIO, but still not entirely sure what version of scsi.device I will use. I will probably try some different versions.

A 1.8" form factor drive is smaller and doesn't use as much wattage. 6 by 7 by 0.8cm. A drive could be fixed at the back next to the floppy drive.

I would say the writing and reading digital cameras does on them ought to outweigh anything you can possibly make an amiga do to them beside low level stuff which might do things to them which the technology isn't designed to do. reading and writing alone shouldn't be a match for a cf card. I mean, one round out shooting video, and I've filled up enough space for the entire amiga lib once or twice. then it is removed and the process is repeated over and over
