Question Found a dongle in a box & don't know what it's for!

Hi everybody,

I found a dongle in a box of "inherited" Amiga goods, and I don't know what it is.

It's green, 9-pin like a mouse/joystick port, and the brains of the unit is a solid plastic (not waxy like Scala). There is no pass-through, either.

Anybody have any ideas what software this dongle might be for? I've tried plugging it into a 2000 and a 4000T but it doesn't seem to fit in either... it might even be for some C64 software...

Thanks!

(I will try to attach some pictures)

hmm

World Class Leader Board? or Leader Board?

just some wild stabs in the dark... I remember a friend having a dongle for one of those games.

It's NOT for Robocop3 - because that's a black one. Can't think of any other 9pin dongleware off the top of my head.

It could be one of the earlier Scala dongles.

Oops, just saw, not waxy...what about Lightwave?

No it's not LightWave, this one is a Rainbow dongle and it's grey/beige parrallel port dongle. Plus the mark is written on the dongle.

I'm not saying it is... but that is identical in appearance to my Scala M300 dongle. I would venture to say it might be Scala.

Lightbulb I think I solved it

It seems to be for a package called Interactor, by Very Vivid Inc., (c)1989!

well, i found the box, manual, & disk for Interactor, which had been resting in the same big storage container as the dongle. i picked it up and began to read the manual; it mentioned a dongle, and the box for the software was the same color as the dongle (though the box is "fluourescent" green, and the dongle "forest"), so i thought it was worth a shot... & i installed it and it ran!

(i suppose the big test now will be to see if the software runs *without* the dongle, but i'm so happy with this solution i haven't been brave enough to try it yet )

thanks!
