Loaded A2000: problem with board locations
Hello forum chummies.
I have a dilemma: I actually have my A2000 fixed (dead A2091 replaced by a GVP HC+8 - thanks Coze). Now my problems are beginning, since in this machine I have: - GVP Impact A3001 (030+FPU+4Mb+ useless IDE); - GVP HD+8 4.15 ROM with 2Mb; - CBM A2286 to act as ISA bridge (who forbid me to max out the Zorro II); - 3COM ISA NIC; - Video slot scandoubler. As is, the system is pretty nice, but I had to remove the second floppy due lack of space to place the Quantum "double-deck" SCA 9.2 HD (+ 2 adapters). Problem: I'll add a video card to this rig in very near future, but the remaining ISA slots are only 8 bits. Can I just solder the lacking ISA 16-bit connector to move the NIC + bridgeboard? BTW: I don't want to swap the bridge + NIC for another Amiga ethernet solution in near future (wife is watching!). |
