Amiga RGB to SCART to HDMI question

Does anyone know if this cheap little adapter will work to get the video from a PAL 600 to an NTSC HDMI Tv?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-HD-MHL-...sid=m570.l1313

I realize you gotta have an amiga 23 pin to SCART cable. this sure would be a cheap way to do it if the above adapter will work.

Err, the converter description is "HD/MHL to SCART". It means that HDMI comes as input, and SCART is an output.

Are you sure you want this? On the other hand, I have a SCART to HDMI adapter that looks very much like this. It doesn't work on my Oric, but I never tested it on my amiga.

Now I have EXACTLY the same adapter. The one I was talking about. Problem is I don't have the amiga original DB to SCART anymore to test. I have RCA to SCART I guess it should do. I'm curious about the result.

I had one of those and it didn't handle RGB at all, not bad with composite to scart.

I used a RCA=>SCART small adapted I didn't even remember I had and connected the 3 RCA to the amiga. Adapter comes with USB power cord.

Worth buying if you ask me. I've seen worse. Worth mentionning that it works on TVs but also on computer monitors. No need to buy an expensive TV, no need to find rare 50Hz Acer or NEC capable monitors. Just the fact that it needs extra power supply is slightly annoying.

@fluffkitten the RGB not working is probably the reason why it doesn't work on my Oric. The Oric has RGB output (DIN => SCART), Amiga has composite (yellow RCA). On my Oric I just see very faint images, but mostly all black. Mystery solved (too bad as I had bought that for my Oric, having already 2 monitors able to display the miggy+scandoubler/CD32 riser VGA outputs, now I know that my third monitor can do it too)

I have one of these, it works fine with RGB. Been using it on my CDTV and CD32.

Well I actually have two, one does the reverse, HDMI to Scart. It downscales ok.

The only problem with most of these devices (including the one linked to in this thread) is that they convert the 50hz signal to 60hz. This will result in jerky scrolling.

There is one more problem with cheap scart to HDMI converters which I think is almost worse than converting 50Hz to 60Hz. Namely input lag. And it's just not a little input lag, it's pretty bad.

Scandoublers like Indivision ECS and AGA MK2 has no input lag that I can detect. More expensive devices like OSSC and Framemeister are also fine as far as I know. The problem are with these cheap converters.

Well, those devices are below 10 euros. Worth trying at least. Can be really useful when you're stuck.

There are 2 outputs on an amiga (RCA & DB/VGA). It makes it easier to diagnose a problem.

I have both of these, https://www.amazon.com/VCANDO-Conver.../dp/B01N06Q9WH and https://www.amazon.com/Scart-Convert.../dp/B01DLZ8K0C (seems to be same manufacturer, and they perform very similarly), and I agree that the input lag is quite bad. Playing games is out of the question, and even moving the mouse around in Workbench is bordering on unusable.

Programming and watching demos is fine though, and the image quality is good.
