NEC FD1037A intern vs extern
Question: From an old Golem external drive i found a NEC FD1037A that was inside the case before the Gotek. Golem placed also an konverter board between the floppy cable and the cable to the amiga. So the NEC worked fine as DF1
Plugged the NEC to the internal cable to the A600, the LED is always on and it won't even move the head. It seems that changes on the drive itself are required, found many guides for various drive but not for these type. Ideas? Solderbro |

Have you verified that the cable is connected the right way around. Some drives have the data connector upside down.
Having the activity LED constantly on is usually a symptom of a flipped cable. |

Tried both variants inside, other direction results in an disabled floppy. Had put it back into the external case, here it works again. Now the machine get a Gotek internally, think the time for the last solid floppies melt away.
