Super Methane Bros score display

Pardon me for asking this, but hasn't the score display in this game been broken under WinUAE for a long time? I seem to recall it worked properly with WinFellow.

It seems to input random numbers all over the eight-digit display, and not really giving you a proper indication as to your points progress.

Thought I'd let you know, thanks.

Hmmmm, okay, it seems WinFellow also shows a buggy score display too. (Using the latest WinFellow available (0.4.4 Build 2) btw).

Can anyone test the game on their real Amiga and tell me if the score displays perfectly without any kind of problem on one?

Well if it's cracked and it's got a cracktro, if they could at least list that we somewhat know what versions to try or not.

I've just been playing this for some time and couldn't see anything wrong with the score. What do you mean exactly?

Tried the Prodigy crack (Gamebase Amiga) & installed CD32 WHDLoad version. It's like MethodGit said, the eight digit scores are counting without doing anything. But it works fine on a real machine.

Prodigy Crack

Super Methane Bros_Disk1.adf = CRC32=de9f055e
Super Methane Bros_Disk2.adf = CRC32=374b01fc

what ya doing messing with cracks ?

the Original images (aso) seem to work just fine in uae.

for ecs i used my A600 config (68000 Cycle exact ecs) and for aga i used A1200 config (020, aga, Immediate blits). The established normals.

The score did only jump about with crazy numbers when immediate blits are dissabled.

how ever is seems easy to score just jumping and firing, dunno if this is the norm

Can't confirm this for the CD32 image. Tried the CD32 emulation in Quickstart mode, with and without immediate blitter. Take a deeper look, the scoring isn't correct. It increases and decreases permanently .

Hmmmm. Looks like it's all based entirely on the Blitter setting. Switch it on and off and you can notice a clear difference. This applies to WinFellow as well.

I wonder why we don't just have Immediate Blitter enabled by default/permanently if it seems to solve a lot of game-related problems?

I might be wrong, but i think general rule is :-
68000 - Cycle exact
68020+ Immediate blits (-jit only for wb or game that would benefit from fast cpu.)

surfice to say ..these are my global defaults

Yeah right, it "fixes" games like PP Hammer or Spindizzy Worlds just fine.
