Thanks for you input. I appreciate it, even though I haven't looked into it yet.

Short answer: every music file that requires additional files (usually a sample file) played by UADE will only work if they are named [suffix].filename. This is how UADE works and you can't do anything about as far as I know. eagleplayer.conf is used though so maybe there some stuff to do there to get it working.

So its a restriction of UADE, too bad!
Isnt UADE an Unix Deliplayer Emulator, so it should work like Amiga Deliplayer?
Just tried Synth Pack on Amiga Deliplayer and it works even with suffix and "smp.set), i dont get it, why those restrictions in UADE, even Amiga Original is more user friendly!

To make sure, I just tried it with UADE command line and suffixes with external sample files doesn't work.

Seems not true at all, maybe you have tried TFMX, this is one of the rare formats, which really dont like suffix.
I have spoken to a guy, who is on Linux, and he tried various formats with external sampleset with UADE and it works with suffix too!
Examples
Quote:
Synth Dream
MonsterBusiness 1.sdr
+
smp.set
Quote:
Pierre Adane Packer
ingame_01.pap
+
smp.set
Quote:
Synth Pack
main.osp
+
smp.set
all this formats are working in UADE with suffix and sampleset, and there are some more formats too.

He told me, that its rather a problem with the UADE web version.

Indeed, this is true, was also not working with suffix in Deliplayer for PC, there are a few exceptions!

BTW: There are a lot of reports, which ideally needs reply, to make sure, that it has been read!
Dont understand something wrong, i try to support this application, not to do down this project!

BTW: (once again)

This time a good news.
You can add those ZoundMonitor format to supported formats list, its working, even with suffix!
example:
adventure.zm (this needs adding a line in eagleplayer.conf, because by default sng prefix/suffix only is recognized)
+
a folder called Samples(with samples inside) in same folder
you have to add ZoundMonitor AmigaPlayer to UADE AmigaPlayer folder before.

Midi-Loriciel(supposed supported format)
How to get this format detected by UADE AmigaPlayer?
Currently its played by FMOD-Engine as normal MIDI!

MaxTrax
Adding WTs Amigaplayer does not help!
Sometimes zik is detected as Maxtrax, but silence only!
Another time Windows error message (Assertion failed)!
No known MaxTrax zik is playing!

Quote:
Correct file extension not necessary

Plays files without caring of the name of the file. For example: a mod-file can be called mod.song, song.mod or even song.mp3 and will still play perfectly fine
Probably not valid for UADE, i suppose!

Good news, but where did you find the samples? I only found some .sng-files. (Didn't try them yet)

I'm aware of that. If you remove the fmod midi plugin they play fine. I'm not sure how to fix this at the moment. I don't know how to tell if it's a normal midi file or a midi-loriciel.

There's probably lots of Eagleplayers that dont work, so better report those who work

For Example
wt.exotica.org.uk/files/examples/ZM_TheMusicalFruitBasket.lzx
on WTs page you can also find the Zoundplayer Eagleplayer.

and
Activas Washing Games:
John Maddick
Atari Busters
Gravediving
All Disks are in AmigaDOS format, so just copy the files.

Eagleplayer(used in game "Prime Mover" only) is working!

Ashley Hogg
Eagleplayer is working too. 1-file zik even with suffix, ziks with samplefile prefix only(seems to be a restriction of the Ashley Hogg Amigaplayer),
Quote:
Andrew Parton
Eagleplayer(used in game "B-17 Flying Fortress" only) is working too(suffix is possible).

Janne Salmijarvi Optimizer
Eagleplayer(used in demo "A Taste Of U4ia" only) is working too(suffix is possible).
In general it seems to be always possible to use suffix for 1-file music!
If you use different prefix/suffix than default one, then you have to edit "eagleplayer.conf"!

Again those Leggless Music Editor Player.
and again suffix problem, its not detected if it is suffix named!!
Eagleplayer and Delitracker for Amiga and Deliplayer for PC have no problem if suffix is used!
Even Example zik on your page is suffix named, but dont play!

Another problem found : file formats such as iff-8svx play fine but leave a file lock behind, i.e. you can't move or delete the file until after you quit bzr.

EDIT: in addition, super nintendo spc700 files don't play from the start (init problem).

Thanks for testing those additional formats. Seems to play fine and I've added the players for the next release. (Haven't tried ZoundMonitor yet).

What's the problem with leggless? Both suffix and precix work fine in BZR.

I'm aware of the file lock, also happens with VGMStream. I'll see if I can fix it.

Can you supply me with a SPC700 file that's wrong?

To ensure, that it has nothing to do with changed UADE Players folder or modified Eagleplayer.config, i have installed original bzrplayer104.zip(92044861) , so no modifications.

the punisher gameover.lme
F19D36F7

LegglessMusicEditor
66EDC20F

still does not work here, if i change to prefix naming
lme.the punisher gameover
it works.

----------------

Newtron Packer 1.0
Newtron Packer 2.0
both sample ziks
ASPECT_ORIX-Musicdisk-wake up tune.NewtronOld
C2C8DA10
Orix-NewtronsMusicBox-fish.Newtron
54982AD0
does not work for me!!

That's actually because of the "ignore filetypes" setting. Apparently there's a bug , because .me (as in read.me) is triggered by .lme. So just remore .me and it works.

Ok, that works, but cant be a solution since .lme is default prefix/suffix.
Anyway, current release bzrplayer104.zip is as it is, so provided sample ziks should work without any modification to prevent any confusion!

Still need confirmation or a solution for various problems/issues, such as "Chaos Engine" ziks not working with current FLOD engine, recently added "NewtronPacker" problem and those shared sample file (smp.set) problem!!

Probably not as rare as you think, there are a lot of false detections!
I will create a list, then you can decide, if it is worth to change anything!

I meant remove .me from the settings i BZR Player. I will of course fix the bug for the next version since it should be .me.

I'm going through all other stuff you mention. But if you want to you could provide a list with all your reported issues.

Nearly every file i've tried is wrong.

For a good example try Guile's theme from SF2. If it works fine, then it's my rip that's wrong (which is possible because s9xplay has the same problem).

Note that the files are otherwise played fine, it's just the starting point that's incorrect.
