lol, ive just taken apart my Zool codewheel and realised it is the most horrendous code wheel ever. The numbers are only visible if by chance u get light to reflect at a specific angle. Looks like a job for photoshop text tool.

This is a marvellous idea!

Retro has uploaded the only legitimate codewheel I own!

However, I have a home-made, but working codewheel for EA's F/A-18 Interceptor. Would you like this uploaded? It has three layers, but might require the Photoshop treatment for best results, as it's handwritten.

Yeah sure post the the wheel as individual layers that would be great. I'll see what I can do.

Will do!

I got it as part of a bundle which came with an A500 I bought from another EAB member recently. It's a bit ropey. I nearly threw it out, but the Interceptor manual gives a procedure for checking the codewheel, and it passed! Now I'm glad I kept it.

The manual refers to the codewheel as the "F/A-18 Flight Computer".

FYI, I'll upload the paragraph from the manual which explains how to use the codewheel too.

PS. Don't be afraid to remind me about this if I forget! After all, it is Christmas - and it's my Birthday today too, so I'll be celebrating in style! Cheers.

Just to increase Christmas/Hanukkah/Quanza spirits even more I've just created an interactive code wheel for possibly the most annoying code wheel ever. Zool . Happy holidays I probably won't be doing any more of these until i've recovered from festive drinking but still submit your code wheels here.

Hi Jawsykilla,

I've finally got around to scanning the home made F/A-18 Interceptor codewheel.

It is in three layers scanned against a dark background to reveal the apertures.

I've also included the paragraph from the manual which explains how to use the original codewheel.

I've uploaded it to the Zone for you, as it's 2.13MB.

Let me know if that's okay, or whether you require something better.

Well, thanks for that interactive codewheel thingymajig, Jawsykilla. Though you're not the first person to have done it for that specific game.

Cool, I just think it would be a neat idea to have a package full of codewheels that are interactive because when I bought my amiga there was lots of official games but with no manuals or codewheels so i couldn't play them. So at some point i may incorporate a viewable manual on the flash file also.

The F/a-18 codewheel didn't scan very well and once put into flash it didn't align very well so I'm having to recreate the wheel in photoshop. I should have it done soon though. If anyone has any scanned codewheels or manuals, put them up on The Zone and I will get it made as quick as i possibly can.

I'll scan the manual as well. At least that is an original! I'm sorry, I had missed that you were also requesting manuals or I'd have done it at the same time. I'll convert it to PDF as well, once I've scanned it.

I have completed the F/A-18 codewheel, well I completed it 3 days ago but I was waiting on the manual, but once Prowler uploads that I will add it to the fla. The codewheel is now on The Zone! 1.41mb.
Cheers,
Jordan

Any chance you can transfer them to the EAB file server rather than the Zone?

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43633

It's a more permanent home. Once you've done it ask a mod to transfer them from your upload directory to a sensible place on the server otherwise they will languish unclassified in your upload directory forever

Created a new folder on the file server 'Amiga Documentation/Codewheels'. I've put Jawsykilla's and the one MethodGit linked to in there for now.
