I've got the SATA version of this one and I can tell you that it is badly made. It does not fit into my notebook because the SATA connector is too narrow to the plastic cover. Also it does not have screw holes in the sides, it can only be fixed by screws in the bottom. I bought it with the though that I could get a cheap SSD-like drive and can change SD cards later easily. Looking at it now, I realise that changing the SD card involves the same work as changing an SSD. And looking at prices I could have got an SSD with similar size at almost the same price and it would probably fit much better and be much faster, either. |

Hmm so maybe I need to look at something else. Wanted a nice tidy way of using old sd cards with my Amigas. Also it saves not being certain whether power is supplied or needed from floppy ( I have a cf to IDE with a floppy power connector but it's not needed )

I've used several of these with success with cards ranging from 32mb to 8gb.
Delivery time from this seller is long (~4weeks) but you'll find the same item for sale in the uk. Edit: And as it is 44pin there is no power confusion |

I use a similar SDHC adapter as the post above me:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300531812037...84.m1438.l2649 Used it just fine with both 16 and 32GB SDHC cards. Currently have the 32 gig card in my 1200. |

ONly in the case of CF. SD does not have an IDE mode so it needs circuitry to be put in an IDE channel like that.
If you want to use your SD ards, you can use a PCMCIA Multicard reader. You can even boot from it and use it as an HD with help of a floppy. |

This means it works with commodores scsi.device but not with idefix or individual computers IDE drivers without patches. Note that most PCMCIA adapters take only SD, not SDHC. Many cardbus adapters take SDHC but these do not work on amiga. Some are supposed to be intelligent and sense the correct mode (PCMCIA/cardbus) but the one I bought of that type did not work on my a1200. |
