Gunnar posted photos of the cases in the German a1k board a week or so ago. There will be a nice acrylic case and metal cases in the colors black, silver, red and blue.
He also posted a picture to show the sizes. See the files attached. |

I'm (sadly) never gonna get a Vampire, but I am a big fan of that perspex style see-through case with metal struts and bolts.

Injection moluding via 3 d printed moulds(Aluminium reinforced) has come a long way these days- but as of yet it seems only suitable for smaller parts- cost effective for runs of 100- 200 pieces though. Not sure if its applicable for this project. The cases pictured are ugly assed imo. Would not even an a1200 case in a different colour not be better?

@Adrian: Gunnar wrote that the metal case on the picture is still a 3D printed prototype, at least some parts of it (I can't remember now). The final metal case should have better quality.

I like the metal case - rugged and functional.
More powerful than an 060 with real Amiga compatibility in hardware, and small enough to fit in your pocket! |

I think a lot of kit to fit the V4 inside an A1200 case will be released. Only a question time

While I find the cases they have OK, I’d personally prefer something else and will be designing my own once they release updated board layout/dimensions or I get my hands on a V4. Contemplating trying to make a laptop/portable out of one.... maybe with a small KVM switch box so I can also put a Raspi4 in the case. We will see. A lot depends on how they did the usb keyboard and mouse support. It is done in the core itself and routes the signals to the proper custom chips to make them think they are getting the old kb and mouse signals, not a pure usb implementation so it’s questionable whether it’ll work with hubs. |

Here's a document describing the official launch of the Vampire 4 at the upcoming Amiga34 event.

Yep I agree...while the team have done a great job, it's too much money for a novelty hobby computer.

Standalone is expensive but meanwhile there are people paying 600/700 euros for a 25 years old blizzard 060. Nunca llueve a gusto de todos

I am not really sure what people expected. You get a completely new processor that was developed over the last years, completely new comp. I expected somewhat bigger price. I hope I'll save some money next year, to get one. |

Yeah, I'll have to save for a long time to be able to afford this. But seeing as they have spent two years perfecting this board (and core) I'm sure it will be smooth as hell.

We expected it to be expensive. That’s confirmed.
