Small question about DOpus

Ok.. Maybe a stupid question.. but what the hell...

I notice that in DOpus that comes with the ClassicWB you can see more chars than before (think its 32 chars).. Is this maximum or did I read wrong about the beta version 4.17 that its up to 60? Just if anybody knows. Would be nice.. Thx!

You can set the max. char visible in the config. Notice that the used filesystem limit the amount of filename lenght.

So now Ive got a CF-card formated in FFS and I guess it can only use 26 chars then? Any trick to format the disc in any other way so it can use more chars? Its cause I have several ADF on my PC and when I copy them it will get messy cause the files will overwrite cause the first 26 chars is identical.

The limit of old FFS is about 30-32. You have to use a filesystem that supports more. E.g. FFS2, SFS, PFS3. All necessary information should be available in this forum using the search function.

FFS2 and SFS isnt that for Amiga OS 3.9+ ? Im running Amiga OS 3.0 .. But nevermind. I live with 26 chars as it seems to be.. Just copying the original files I wanna use from a map on pc to another map.. Then directly to the CF-card..
