Bringing up the age old question but what is the best way to update? DL the whole lot again (inefficient) or is there some better way? Really would be nice if there was....

Right now, there is only 3.0 and that is a full version so grab it all again.

If you want to update, download 2.0 and all the updates. Then run the updater on 2.1, 2,2 and so on.

That will get you up to date with the games, but there have also been fixes (games mispelled, removed etc) that is not automatically fixed with the updater.
For example, see puccis thread here which have been done/fixed in 3.0: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=255

So my suggestion would be to store away any games where you have savegames today that you want to save and then download 3.0 and replace the whole thing, restoring the save games.

This is if you are the kind of gamer who wants ALL games available on your amiga/emulator. If you've sorted out just a handfull of games that you want, this pack is not for you and you should keep it updated from Retroplays individual releases instead. This pack is for lazy buggers like myself who just wants all games available and updated easely or if you are just getting started.

Hello...

How update collection...
Delete old collection from folders Demos, Games, GamesAGA - beginning from letters -
Far or Windows Explorer.
Depacked 3 archives 3.0 - in any folders with 7zip archiver.
Move depacked files, beginning with letters - to ClassicWB - in needs folders, usually
Demos, Games, GamesAGA.
Update AGLauncher files.
Correct sorts and windows in WB.
Enjoy...

Turran, your updater 3.0 - not depacked, written - error on Win 7... ???
I depack archive - Demos...
In updates TurUpdater - written error in line 2415...

If you tried using the updater, you can not use that for updating to version 2 to 3. 3 is a full package so, no go there.

It will be useful again for a possible 3.1 release in the future, for updating from 3.0 to 3.1.

RetroPlay's FTP lists 4 versions, 2 demos and 2 full games. The 512KB version and the 1MB version.

HiredGuns 512KB and 1MB versions are in the 'Unpack on Amiga' section rather than the main games pack.

Many thanks Turran for your hard work as always

@Turran

Hardwired disk images in demos pack wasn't copyable from my Mac to Amiga via UAE without changing the permissions on the files mac side first (Owner didn't have write perms).

Was ok when I extracted with different app.

Thanks for the packs!

For those interested, new version of PyRetroplay script is on the Bitbucket:
https://bitbucket.org/zzarko/pyretroplay/overview. Unpacking of weird lha/lzx archives on Linux should now be solved (so far, I haven't found one that unpacks incorrectly), if using Linux filesystem, of course.

Changelog:
* Switched from 7z to The Unarchiver (unar package on Linux) for unpacking on PC side
* Added support for LZX archives (if same version of file are available both as LHA and LZX, LZX will be used)
* Added Debug mode of execution (doesn't change local files)
* Added current FTP list to local database
* Script now checks for archives that aren't on FTP server, but exist in local directories
* Backup of local database is made before writing a new one
* Many small improvements to code
* New bugs?

Thanks for all the hard work. One Q for after next update, could you confirm the HDD size needed for all these unpacked on your Amiga. I need to sort a CF-IDE for my A600 and want to make sure I can unpack the lot

I'd go for an 8GB with PFS3-AIO at least

Diskspace used,unpacked, in Linux
Demos_WHDLoad: 762 MB
Games_WHDLoad: 4.01 GB
Games_WHDLoad_AGA: 1.24 GB
