Best Platform Game Ever on any Platform

which one is best of the best for you?

Adjusting to the pure genre excluding components of adventure games, role, etc.. and on 2D.

For me is Lomax. It's the most spectacular platform game with audio CD music and great graphics.

It's much more impressive in motion with many moving objects and smooth animations.

I can't decide between Huckleberry Hound in Hollywood Capers and Top Banana. I think I'll have to go with Top Banana due to it's better graphics.

In all seriousness, I still love Superfrog if you take out more shooting-oriented platformers like Turrican 2.

On ANY platform!? I really have to make that choice, with in mind that I have probably not even touched more than 10% of the games available!?

Well then I choose Donkey Kong Country. Plays like a charm, looked and sounded amazing in those days, difficulty level was just right and the secrets and two player mode kept it replayable for ages.

Since we speak about any platform here, my choice is Prinny/Prinny 2 (PSP). Very hard games but very good too.

All my fav platformers has elements of adventure in them, so I'm gonna bypass that rule. Oddworld (PSX), Flashback (Amiga), SMB3 (NES), Rick Dangerous 1 and 2 (Amiga), all of the Turricans (Amiga) and all of the Castlevanias.

Hmm, I still really like Super Mario World on the SNES. Just quality level design and gameplay. Of course nothing beats Turrican 2, but like Codetapper said it's not purely a platformer. Sonic gets my next vote of course

For me, it's gotta be Sonic the Hedgehog on the Mega Drive (Genesis). Absolutely amazing for the time and still just as playable today.

If I were to choose one platform game, I would choose Another World. Perfect combination of puzzles, fun, action and emotion.

IF someone want to play and is too lazy to boot up winuae or their amiga, some nut have made a javascript version:

I wouldn't really describe those as 'platform' games, they're more 'first person shooters'
