WhatIFF?

Since the magazine is progressing I thought I would put the updates under a proper thread. The name is now finalised with WhatIFF? - in AmigaGuide and the first issue over halfway done. Issue 1 will contain:

Reviews:
- SCSI2SD v6
- GuruModem
- TF1260
- Re-review GVP DSS8

Guides:
-Telser setup on networked Amigas
-Lightwave 3.5 installation
-OctaMED 101 - splicing

In addition there will be articles from Cammy, Kinami, Steve Lord and myself. Still a way to go but if anyone has any ideas or wishes to write something please contact me.

Great to see it coming on. I can’t commit to the project just yet, writing duties on Amiga Addict and Pixel Addict are taking most of my time. Hopefully in the new year I will have streamlined system that will allow for more projects.

I do the creative revolution articles in AA. Been going since issue 4. A lot of work, but so much fun.

An official website has been created for distribution (though it is a very simple site) of the magazine alongside Aminet.

www.whatiff.info

The first issue is almost there, it has some pretty good reviews and articles plus a great interview.

I hope you charge at least $1 for this so you can at least make a little cash for your efforts.

Nah, I am happy to do this for the community, if it is something that is helpful to others that is most important thing. If possible I would want to pay the contributors for their efforts.

Thank you Cammy, I am hoping people will enjoy the first issue. We also have a new section, Amiga Rant, we are looking for people to submit an article about the Amiga, it can be anything: what you hate or love about the Amiga, how the colour scheme offends your sense of taste, why it should have had 4 mouse ports instead of 2, anything at all! Looking forward to your submissions

The website isn't working for me, it looks like the server was overwhelmed.

Ah, it looks like it's the HTTP Everywhere extension to blame. Putting the URL in with explicit http:// instead of using the links in this thread worked.

First issue of What IFF? is now available from the website: www.whatiff.info
Unfortunately I am having trouble uploading to Aminet at the moment but it will be available there hopefully next week. I have to thank SteveLord for all his help on this project, without his support for the first issue it would not have happened. I hope you guys can enjoy it, it is the first issue so I imagine there will be some teething problems but I hope that it will get better with each issue. Happy holidays everyone!
