Yup, just saw it on konsolowisko.pl
My first thought - it looks... normal. Seriously, what's with these 3d games, they all seem to look like clones of clones. No matter if it's Diablo 3, StarCraft 2 or this one - we all seen it before. I hope I'm wrong... |

It's been in production for a long time. Shame it is download only.
As for being "clones of clones" they are all 3D Isometric / above view games so of course they are going to look similar given the same technology for each. Same could be said about all FPS games. I am sure the gameplay will be quite different between the games. I dont think any will have gameplay that is revolutionary. Unfortunately revolutionary gameplay costs money and usually doesn't sell. |

Some months ago, the fact a new Alien breed was in the works was mentioned here, but I did not see any new until now. Therefore thanks for the info.
Wait and see (and hope there is a Windows version). Funnily, this screenshot strongly reminds me of Shadowgrounds Survivor last level (if I remember correctly). Edit: [ Show youtube player ] |

I do not see any similarities other than it is a generic "moon base" style, with industrial textures, oil barrels etc. used in hundreds of games.
Popularised by the design of the base / ships in the Alien films. |

Let's hope so. Otherwise it would be quite pointless IMHO.

A similar game, but one thats already out is Alien Swarm, a free mod for Unreal Tournament 2004. http://www.blackcatgames.com/alienswarm.html . I cant really speak for the single player mode, but multiplayer is a blast.

Team 17 want to sell it in episode style. Annoying release format. Nowadys they all fear a full price disaster as it seems.

Depends on how much and how long each episode is in terms of hours of single player gaming. Also what the rewards are (in gaming terms) for completing a particular episode and replaying it looking for secrets and bonuses.
Nothing in Team17's history leads me to believe that they can see the true potential of a regular episodic game release other than the $$$. Nor can I see them able to avoid the pitfalls associated which such a game and come up with a workable, value-for money, rewarding game. |

2,5 million US$ development costs. I doubt that they make any profit with it.

I'm really looking forward to this although I will check the demo out first.
There is a decent interview with Martyn Brown here:- http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/al...view-1868.html |
