It's basically the same set of tools, just rewritten from scratch. Also, the AmiTCP versions would have worked with any SANA-II device driver, too, because that's the only part of the whole networking stack which they need to talk to.

As the new set of Online/Offline commands is not shipping with Roadshow yet (working on it), you might want to use the AmiTCP versions in their place in their stead

I thought the AmiTCP tools worked with interface names and not device names.

No, they work on the device names, too.

I just checked the public source code for AmiTCP 3.0b2 (on Aminet as "AmiTCP-src-30b2.lha"). The AmiTCP online/offline command (it's the same command, actually, it just figures out that to do by checking its own name) does the same what my rewrites will do, and they also show proper error messages.

The Commodore versions of the online/offline commands included in the final published SANA-II archive, which can be found on Aminet as "sana2_v2.lha", do not show proper error messages, though. In my comments regarding the commands and their functionality, I compared my new versions against the Commodore versions, not the AmiTCP versions.

Edited to add: If the online/offline command worked on the TCP/IP stack's interface names rather than only the device driver names, then that would be even cooler. Just made a note to look into doing this with a minimum of fuss.

Either way, it's good to have the commands included with the stack so that there's one thing less to install on a fresh system.

I tried the demo version with a plipbox and it seems to work well except FTP crashes after each file is downloaded. WGET can successfully download the same file via http.

Anyone got any ideas?

Upgrading to SetPatch_43.6b.lha seemed to fix this...

The ftp command included with Roadshow 1.13 needs about 11kB of stack, so set it to 16kB to be safe.

Anyone knows where to download the v1.11 and subsequent updates? The links on APC&TCP seem broken.

Maybe I am missing something, but I can't figure out how to download the archive without buying it again.
In the "order history" section it says Roadshow but there are no download links...

EDIT: I followed the link from my email and got to a page that states:

Download links
Roadshow

Link expires:
Sunday 18 August, 2013 4 downloads remaining

So the link has expired... I cannot download it again.

Really, no one has ever understood that strange system of handling the licenses of Amiga Future. Download limit? why? expire link date? why?
