Alien Fish Finger?
I'm looking for the rare game "Alien Fish Finger". I've never played it, but I've heard good things about it and the screenshots look interesting so I'd like to try it.
I can't find it anywhere. Does anybody have it or got a link for it? |

I'm a bit surprised that this isn't in TOSEC, especially since it has been uploaded to the Zone before. Anyway, I've upped a copy to the Zone again. Enjoy!

It's a funny little game. I especially like how when you die, a new guy gets thrown across the screen to the spot where you died. It also records every spot where you die and the next time you play, the bodies are still there. (I've got bodies everywhere now)
Too bad it's in PAL overscan. I can't see what's at the top of the screen and I died a few times by falling into pits I can't see at the bottom. |

Yeah, its a pretty decent game. After I upped it to the Zone, I transferred it over to my A2000 and made a disk out of it, then played it for a while. Fortunately I have the Fat Agnus, so I was able to switch to a PAL display. If you have one in your A500, you ought to be able to do the same. I used to do this with my old A500 using a "pre-boot" disk that would do the trick.

Pretty interesting and fun little game, got to agree! Reminds me a bit of the old 8bit game "Game Over"

I have the 2MB Agnus and was playing in PAL mode, but the game uses the full overscan which is impossible to see on an NTSC 1084 monitor.
There are a bunch of games I have a hard time playing like The Settlers, Babeanoid, Deluxe Galaga, Centre Court Tennis and others. If only they used a slightly smaller screen for us poor unfortunate NTSC users... (not Beast small, more like Ruff'N'Tumble small) |

It gets cut? Nothing the width and height controls can solve??

I'm playing on an NTSC 1084, and the width and height controls do the trick for me, but of course you have to be able to switch the Amiga to PAL mode too or it isn't going to display properly regardless of what kind of monitor you have.

Uh, which width and height controls do you mean? There are no width and height controls on my 1084. If you mean the PAL overscan prefs width and height controls, I can't adjust it less than 256 height (still off the screen) and it has no effect on the games anyway.
If you mean the monitor controls, you must have a different 1084. I have the original (not S or D model). |

Mine is also an original 1084, but there are 4 knobs on the back that allow you to adjust the width and height. Yours is different?

No knobs on mine. I just checked. I forgot that there IS a hole on the back where you can insert a screwdriver to adjust vertical height (no horizontal), but it's very tricky and you can easily bend the little switch deep inside. (..now that I think of it, I think I bent that on my last monitor and wrecked it - and I only adjusted it twice)
I've got to get one of those "knobbed" models... |

Now that I know that not all 1084's have the same adjustment knobs on the back that mine have, I guess in the unlikely event that I were ever to want to put mine up on eBay, I could call it "Ultra RARE!!!", and I wouldn't exactly be lying.
