Homemade HD bracket for GVP 030 Combo

Hello,

DIY galore for me this weekend!
The second mod I'm showing the community is an idea to build from ground up an HD bracket for those GVP accelerator cards that also have a SCSI controller.

I have a 030 Combo but I think this can apply to others. The bracket on this kind of cards could save a Z2 slot, but it is not easy to find.

So, starting from a bare sheet of aluminium of 500x200x0.5 mm, I've cutted and bended the shapes I had calculated writing down on a simple OpenOffice file :^) based on some pictures a kind friend of Amibay sent me a while ago.

My first attempt is admittedly ugly because I'm far from being skilled in DIY ;-)

but the good news is that my calculations - although not 100% precise - were fitting the card quite nicely.

So I'd like to share the files I've created - hopefully this will lead others to improve what I've started or simply make your own bracket.

Please find attached the OpenOffice Impress file (remove ".zip" from the file name) and the generated PDF.

Have fun!

That looks more lethal than the OEM shielding! You could cut a steak on that

lol. Well unfortunately my dremel has only blades too thick for that job, so it was like sharpening a toothpick with an axe.
But you're right, I could have spent some more time on the rough edges. Well maybe on prototype #2 ;-)
