Cant open up Power Computing scsi cdrom case!
Does anybody know how to open up a Power computing external scsi cdrom drive? it was sold with the squirrel scsi adaptor!
I just cannot get the dam thing open... it has a push clip on the top, near the back! only one side of the drive box will move the other side is locked solid... makes me wonder why its stuck like that? i got this drive off ebay. The original cd rom has been removed and replaced with a lowprofile drive! a 5 1/4 pc blanking plate has been cut and stuck in the gap. not too happy really |

If its the same as mine, remove the padded plastic foot pads at the things bottom. These cover up some nice screw holes.
However, to get access to the drive only you only need to remove the one screw thats near the surface. Then you can slide that baby orf. Once then, you can attach any old SCSI bit of hardware to the internal cable inside the thing. Sorry to hear you got a manky one btw |

Thanx m8! i found the screws underneath! a few of the rubber feet have fell apart! they split when i pulled them up
doubt i will ever get exact replacements so i stuck on some rubber feet that you can get from tandy! it looks a bit ugly but does the job! just gotta test it now and hope it works! |
