Whats this little part in my A600
Sorry for asking quite a stupid question, but im a electronics newbie. Im just reading up on the topic so that i can eventually change the Caps on old motherboards. I opened up my A600, to find.--- no leaking caps, but this little bugger, (see attachment) which where all soaked with something. Whats this? I recently lost sound on one channel, could this be the problem (and not the caps)?

According to A600 schematic, those components in metal cans are -
Z221 - band pass filter Z222 - delay line. Part of the video encoding circuit, no effect on audio. For missing audio channel, most likely culprits are C324/C334, 22uF SMT capacitors behind the keyboard connector or U15, LF347 quad op amp underneath the floppy. There are a few other electrolytic caps that would affect audio but probably not only one channel. Replace all electrolytic caps before worrying about the op amp as it is tricky to replace compared to caps. |
