Yes, these were selfmade CDs.

They look legitimate enough to me and I have compared the images to those in HOL.

Do you have any proof of this??

The color of the Compact Disc logo on one of the Turrican CDs on E-bay differs in color, and both of the E-bay discs seem to have a large empty area around the center free from those serial numbers/whatever you find on all professionally mastered discs. They could be Lightscribed I guess, but it could also just be the lighting.

they do differ signifiantly from the HOL images. There may of course be other versions of originals that are not on HOL...?

Yes the buyer confirmed it to a friend in germany.

The other cdtv items were also not original.

Hi there! I'm new too and have been pointed here by a nice seller from eBay to have a look at this thread. I do own some of the games this cheater sells on eBay and talked to people who also own games like CDTV Turrican 2 and we all agree that these CDs are FAKES! If it would help, we can post pics some of the games he sells to show you the obvious differences but the best explanation is from TexMurphy.

Yes, you can help yourself by reporting this to eBay, make a PayPal claim as item is a fake (and get a refund), and making it clear in your feedback that this was a fake. Help yourself and warn other to help the Amiga community.

Here's another seller from ebay who sells fakes which he produces himself. He prints covers on simple paper and puts a sticker on the CD... As he sells these items every month I have to assume he produces them himself. I can confirm the following as I've bought from this seller and confronted him with the clear evidence but he still denied it was a fake. After I've reported him to eBay and PayPal, I've got refunded within minutes...

Here is the link:

I'm sorry for my harsh mail, I'm sorry if I breached an EAB rule about privacy, but I really do hope that many people will read this and will hopefully be warned.

Right, people joining to complain about the same eBay seller over and over again. Please, tell your friends in line that the next posts about the same topic not affecting anyone on EAB (yet) will be deleted. Thanks.

What does this thread have to do with the fake CDs? Why on earth do people involve EAB in it? Escapes me totally... Will split the stuff from this thread then.

Just banned Collector, as he was a duplicate account of the user Peilton. All the best for TexMurphy though

@TCD

unfortunately my typoholic friend, EAB, is a victim of itself.

by developing HOL to the level it is at now, and its knowledgeable community here, it has become an expert in such matters.

Yeah, I'm quite naive when it comes to the forum usage. Never would've thought that eBay uses forum entries. Anyway, nothing to see here, let's all move on and cross our fingers for Text

Can you explain why you banned both his accounts? From what i can gather he forgot he had another account. If you have banned him for breaking some sort of posting rule, surely being that this was his first post it seems a bit eccesive to just ban him? could you not just warm him or something?

I only banned the duplicate account. You should have a look at his posts here before claiming he 'forgot he had another account'. Sorry, but we don't support trolls.
