Problem with custom keyboard mapping in WinUAE

Hi, just like to say Win/UAE are awesome and thanks for letting me relive the glory days of my Amiga 500

However! I have a problem and have not been able to figure this out.

Essentially I want to map a couple of keys on the keyboard differently in WinUAE.

However! As soon as i select Configuration #1 rather than Compatability mode, no keyboard input works at all.

Keyboard is ticked! (enabled). I cannot figure this out and feel I must be missing something basic or silly as i have found a few other posts on the net regarding people getting this working successfully.

If I hit F12 and switch back to compatability mode normal keyboard input works fine (in whatever game i have loaded) but if i do the same again and switch to compatability mode 1, and switch back to the game.. no keyboard keys do anything!

Do i have to un-stick keyboard under compatability mode first? or something?

Anyway, hope I have explained the problem sufficiently.

err.. it is? :O

really?

i uh.. copied from the compatability mode ..

Ok that makes no sense to me as it's not mentioned anywhere!

Should i be using config 2 3 or 4 for doing a normal custom keyboard map? (I only need to remap 2 keys?)

Nothing special in log (except lots of input devices). I think I remember seeing similar report without solution.

- Try removing all unnecessary USB devices (maybe some of them look like a keyboard causing some kind of conflict)

- Remove default.uae (backup it first), run WinUAE without loading configuration files, select configuration #1 and boot for example to WB, open CLI and test the keyboard.
