Telltale making Monkey Island episodes - Page 3

Awesome collection there, laffer! ^_^

I have a fair few originals going round atm, but not as well treated as yours I'm afraid.

I have so far.....

* A jewel case of MI1 Sega CD (used to have the box but I don't know where that went).
* A jewel case (with cover) of MI1 FM Towns (again, used to have the box but that mysteriously disappeared long ago). Cost me £87 on eBay a few years ago!
* MI1 PC, 256 colours floppy version (original retail).
* MI1 PC, 256 colours floppy version (Kixx XL budget).
* MI1 Atari ST (original retail).
* MI1 Amiga (Kixx XL budget).
* MI2 Amiga (original retail).
* MI2 Amiga (Kixx XL budget).
* LucasArts Archives Volume 3 (this includes amongst other CDs the Monkey Island Madness disc).

The 3D "Tales of Monkey Island" could be a nice continuation of the game I love, but I suspect it will just be more re-hashing of the content from the first few games.

The 2D remake could be a very nice addition, but I would have preferred the graphics to be more faithful to the original. IMHO they have got SOME good voice talent, but from what I have seen in the trailer, I suspect a lot of the jokes won't have the punch they once did. e.g [ Show youtube player ] ,1:32 onwards, the scene on the bridge. The bit where he sinks his ship has lost all sense of humor IMHO.

Since I am such a big fan I will force myself to play them all, but I doubt I will enjoy it, but fingers crossed. :P

The new Telltale episode looks and sounds aweful, even MI 4 was better. And the Monkey SE don't have the speech if you switch to the orginal graphics. So, a big "no-go" for me.

This is a game I wish people would actually buy... I doubt it will sell very well, but if it did... it might encourage Lucasarts to do something with these IPs again.
