Amiga 500 - keyboard issue

Hi, afraid I’m not particularly technical with Amigas. Found my old 500 in the summer and set it back up ok and have been adding to my game collection through eBay (had 100s of games when I was a kid, which seem to have got lost over time) but I’ve not been able to play a few of these games as you need to press keys to load etc. (whether F1 or simply just letters) and none of the keys seem to work. When I press Caps Lock, the little light doesn’t come on. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t like this in the summer but I’m not 100% sure.
What would be the best way to approach this please? Any tips/advice would be most welcome. Would hate to go and have to buy another Amiga on eBay if there’s an easier/cheaper solution to sort out the one I already have which seems to be working fine other than this key issue.

First of all, open it up and reseat the keyboard connector.

Do the power + floppy leds work?

Thanks, yes both LEDs work ok.

As I'm very un-technical with Amigas, is there a vid or idiot proof instructions around anywhere which will show me how to open it and reset the keyboard connector? I'm really scared about doing something that's going to completely wreck it!

All you need to do is open the screws at the bottom of the case and you'll see the keyboard connector through the hole in the RF shield.

Be very careful that you reconnect it in the same position and straight on top of the pins. IF you are offset by a few, there will probably be smoke.
