Slowdown

Why does WinUAE slow to a crawl (We are talking CPU % >600%) when it decrunches anything that makes the screen colours shuffle (like old c64 games loading!!)

My PC is more than capable of handling 99% of what WinUAE can throw at it, I just wondered why there's so much slow-down. This happens in all configs (a500 512kb - 1200 64mb) I use!

My specs.. just to be sure!

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AMD 2700XP (clocked at 2.10ghz)
512mb TwinMOS pc3200 DDR (Dual Channel)
Asus V9560/TD GeForce FX 5600
Soundblaster Audigy

I don't think anything else would impact the speed

PC too slow.. obviously....

Have you tried messing with options like Sound Off and so on to see which part of the emulation is causing the grief and then it could at least be pointed to Mr Wilen for fixing?

It is feature. Display emulation is optimized for full raster lines, emulating writes to any custom register that cause changes to display immediately are slow to emulate 100% accurately.
