Downloaded and installed the 'full' version of ClassicWB on my 1200 (standard apart from an extra 4mb) last night. It was a relatively straight-forward process using WinUAE and my flash 'HD', even for a new user like me.
Wow what a difference to the standard 3.1 WB that I was running before, this now looks usable (and user-friendly). Great job Bloodwych, much appreciated |

Completely agree with everybody's comments, I love this project!
Glad to say it's totally re-ignited my interest in the amiga scene again after leaving around 2000 for the pc/mac. As much as I loved the amiga back then I would often be frustrated trying to install lots of little 'improvement' patches on my system which often weren't compatible with each other and usually sent the machine on course to guru city! So it's fantastic that somebody's taken the time out to create this wonderful turnkey setup that looks dead cool and is nice and stable So i've recently grabbed myself a fresh (non yellow) amiga off ebay, popped in my old 040 accelerator (sensibly kept in storage all these years), bought a buffered IDE interface and an pcmcia flash adapter, and now i'm contently sat here with an enlarged grin from ear to ear whilst installing whdloaders So yep, thank you Bloodwych for your totally awesome work! |

Never left feedback on here before so I thought it was time I changed that.
I use it on WinUAE (I've put too much effort into my Workbench on my real A1200 ) and it's awesome, quite frankly. I'd recommend it to anyone, as would most people here I'm sure. Many thanks for your excellent work Bloodwych. |

Installed ECS Classic on mine A600. Works perfectly.
Just two suggestions: 1- Swap lha 2.12 for the good old 1.38 (2.12 have bugs!); 2- Add Viewtek instead of JIV (VT is able to show gif and jpg archives). And if you mind, ask Chris Hodges to toss "Tubes" (a tube game) in the package. Great game, BTW. Well written et all. |

I disagree.
According to Team Chaos history logs: lha 2.1 has bugs and so does 2.2. But 2.12 works. I have been using 2.12 on my machine for some months now and it works without bugs for me. 1.38 is 100% reliable and has a much smaller exe and is faster than 2.12. Perhaps that is what you were referring to? |

Hello James! Glad to see you around.
Nope, 2.12 still have the same bugs 2.2 have. I tested it on mine 1200 just to be sure (Microbotics 1230 & Apollo 1240). But even if the bug don't appear when running in a plain 68000 (which I doubt), 1.38 is smaller and faster, as you said. BTW: anyone have a suggestion for a Multiview replacement for A600/WB2.1? |

Bloody awesome!
I've been using the "advanced" version on my A1200 for ages now & although I've had other OS installed during that time (other drives, boot-selectable muti-drive configuration) Classic WB is what I use for just about EVERYTHING! Very well thought out and user friendly! Great if you are using a small TV for your monitor too! PZ. |

Im not sure if the CF version of classic workbench counts but well its still classic WB with some alterations to allow flash cards
Anyway I think classic workbench is GREAT!, it adds so much to the amiga and considering my amiga isnt always good enough to play some games well I have set it all up to run through emulation. The end result is something that I was worried was turning out a disaster turned out dam good! I really like classic WB, awesome project as far as I'm concerned and I haven't even scratched the surface of its capabilities. Awesome project, keep up the great work, would also like to think work on the CF aspect will keep getting worked on if required although I realise thats kinda differant to classic workbench, CWB has a much more user friendly interface as well. Just to affirm what theperson before me says, well I cant see me using anything else. People that put stuff like that out for community use deserve much success, thats how I see it. I just found the ClassicWB page and I can't believe I didn't find out about this earlier. I've been stuck with a plain WB 3.1 install for some time, thinking it's too much of a hassle to recreate the install I used to have. This makes things a lot more comfortable.
Thanks a lot for your efforts in creating the ClassicWB! |

I got classic WB up and running on my NTSC A1200 with 8 megs ram and a 4gig CF hard disk running in Multiscan productivity mode with very little problems. My only "mods" were to install MCP to turn the gray border black and installation of my easyadf and Ami-express BBS software.
The best part was I "built" my customized install in WinUAE and transferred it over via unzip on a CF card. Rebooted, worked like a champ! Thanks for such a great WB! |

@Bloodwych
Hi Thanks for the heads up, I will give it a go, I'm just so comfy with Classic Workbench now & really know my way around it, I'm still running The Last OS3.9 Classic Workbench beta on my A1200 with Indivision & really enjoying it.... Do you have any updates or final release for the OS3.5 / OS3.9 Classic Workbench yet my friend. Really appreciate your hard work, Classic Workbench is a real must for all my miggys TC |
