In WinUAE, I have to run it with "2MB Chip and 4MB Fast RAM" for it not to exit back to WB after pressing <Fire> at the title screen.

yes, 6mb of ram..... just on ECS machine version....

I read somewhere that the Amiga community was getting together to finish this? Is this a thing and if so how is it progressing?

From memory I don't think leathered's source code archive was ever found / made available so...

I am very sorry for what happened to this boy, I only know that he shared our same passion for amiga, and I wish I could do something if it is possible to complete his game in his name and for his family, if you are a programmer able to contact me
