Games that use the same engine

What games are there that pretty much seem to use the very same engine?

Let's start with Trolls and Oscar. These seem to be pretty identical from an engine point of view.

What other games that use almost identical engines are there?

Warning: Bloody Obvious ahead:

Wonderdog & Chuck Rock 2: in wonderdog code:

Code:
Insert cmp.l	#'CR2A',(a4) # chuckrock 2 disk A ???
		bne	Disk2
(well, officially confirmed: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...ight=wonderdog)

Moktar & Titus the Fox
Cadaver & Cadaver The Payoff
Cannon Fodder & Cannon Fodder 2
All Lucasfilm adventure games (SCUMM) used a very similar virtual machine. Same can be said for Sierra adventure games
Tiertex games didn't have any engine. Just a pair of pedals (or oars)

One of which was rusted stuck in place.

Turrican 3 and Mr. Nutz apparently use the same graphics engine.

Well, Oscar actually starts as Trolls 2, but Flair Software decide that he is not cool enough and order Philip Nixon to design better character. There are various magazins previews that shows Troll in different costumes on early Oscar levels.

Dungeon Master & Chaos Strikes Back
Eye of the Beholder I and II
Ishar Trilogy

Most of the Freescape titles used the same engine like Castle Master and Total Eclipse

Quote:
Designed by Ian Andrew, CASTLE MASTER is the fourth in a series of games using the solid 3D graphics environment Freescape, which was developed by Incentive's in-house development team Major Developments. Successive Amiga releases in the series included DRILLER, DARK SIDE, TOTAL ECLIPSE & CASTLE MASTER 2: THE CRYPT.

Makes sense. Change graphics, map and sound and you can pump out games every 2 weeks??? Depending on the engine quality you could get some good $$$

Not sure about this one but Cool Spot and Global Gladiators might also use a pretty similar engine. Both were written by John Twiddy and use maps built with tUME.

I don't think Civilization and Colonization use the same engine. The Amiga version of Colonization was written to be as Amiga-friendly as possible and can be run on top of Workbench. Civilization was more or less a straight port of the PC version.

Send a message via ICQ to lilalurl
Very likely:
Sherman-M4:
http://hol.abime.net/1907
and Advanced Destroyer Simulator:
http://hol.abime.net/3192

Didier Arnaud was involved in both games and you can notice some similarities in both the HUD and some 3D renditions (although since one is on land and the other at sea, there are not that many).
