it doesent look like the battery has leaked.
if you have a multimeter and a can of switchcleaner, with the multi meter set it to continuity and check the switch works hold the probe over the middle and the other pin on the outside of the switch if it buzzes its working then do the same for the other side of the switch middle and opisite pin. then check the battery is holding charge by setting the multimeter to dc volts and hold the probs on either side of the battery. its better to do it outside of the machine.(i dought this will stop the card from working its just so the card holds the time and date) try to clean the ram cards contacts and the ic's as well, make sure its dry before you plug it back in. obviosly this just basic stuff. if you had a closeup picture of both sides of the card that you could post here, that would be great. when your using the card and the switch only use the switch when its off(set the switch then turn on again while its off) |

It's hard to see properly on those small pictures, but on number two it definately looks like the battery has started to leak already as the pad below it looks attacked. The tracks for the switch runs close by the battery and is probably very thin, so it is not unlikely that it has also been attacked, breaking the connection.

Hi. I cleaned the ram card with alcohol and i also cleaned the pins in the Amiga. The ram is now working. I also got the modulator so generously donated to me by fitzsteve (Thanx alot for that man, and those floppies. really appreciated).
My set up is almost complete now... going to get some more blank floppies, a null serial cable so i can transfer adfs (already brought that lead), a scart to rgb eventually and later on down the line, a HDD, if I can find one Here’s a pic of the Amiga resurrected http://www.trydowave.com/amiga500final.web.htm |
