Ruff 'N' Tumble's scrolling isn't smooth enough for it to count as truly great graphics, though its one of the best games mentioned on here so far overall. Walker has quite a nice style, with such a big sprite moving so neatly with so many small ones on screen at once (until you stomp on them). While The Settlers can't be compared directly with the pure action games mentioned, I love the details used to show each character's worklife in detail, really helps you connect with them.

Unsurprisingly, almost all Amiga originals so far.

Lionheart = Looks fantastic and plays like a dream. (2 button joypad recommended) My favorite Amiga Game
On top of that; every difficulty setting changes the Level Layouts.

This Game is truly a Gem

There are tons of other great (looking) Amiga Games
and TONS of awful conversions/games from other Platforms too

the horror... the horror .....

I recently discovered that Agony had a bit of a sequel/ripoff done on the Sega 32X called Kolibri. It's a hummingbird instead of an owl but look at the similarity in graphics here [ Show youtube player ] and look at the font of the title screen, exactly like Agony so there must have been some cross-involvement somehow. Would love to know the story.

I'd probably agree with Flink - looks amazing!

Although I always through Shadow Fighter had some of the best graphics and super smooth and fast gameplay. In a one on one with Elf Mania, there can be only one winner...

Flink is CD32 only, not even A1200 + CD32 though.

That's really the price you pay for an easy access to development on a floppy based system. Sometimes the artist is let down by the coder, sometimes vice versa, sometimes both. That's just how it was with 16bit computer games on any system.

I think this thread should have been created with a 'OCS/ECS' added to the title.

Is a CD32 not an Amiga then?

I want to break a spear in favor of Universe, that level of copper palette exchange is unheard of in any other amiga game!

Good call Here's an example from the game that uses 213 unique colors on OCS:

Microcosm's intro always impressed me the most, way better than the CDXL intro in tower assault, but running full screen rather than a tiny window, I suppose the game is also pretty good looking if you can get past how shit the game actually it is.

Everything has been pretty much said.
Maybe I'll had Beneath a Steel Sky which is superb for an OCS game. You could barely see the difference between OCS and VGA versions

I voted Elfmania, but Fire & Brimstone has some pretty neat graphics too. Same with Disposable Hero.

I mentioned in the original post that I thought about that but I feel that developers never really exploited AGA to it's fullest, at least at the beginning. It's like how OCS wasn't really pushed until 1989 or so 4 years in. Some Clickboom AGA games were impressive in '96 onwards, 4 years after AGA but that also had a lot to do with the Amiga game scene going way down after the demise of Commodore.

I also started the thread with the mindset that the Amiga had superior graphics (at least 2D) to the PC and consoles of the time so something like Flink was developed for and looks better on the Genesis. There is an extra layer of parallax and it uses the whole top of the screen whereas the CD32 version has the top cut off with parts of the background. I saw Henk admit it was just a quick port to the CD32.

Do you mean Capital Punishment? I get the idea though. It went towards RTG pretty quickly after AGA, so a lot of the later games aren't that 'Amiga' anymore.
