First: try to put some spacing on your sentences, as they are they are very hard to read.

Now, the problem: are you sure you are an Amiga user from old times? Reduce the used colours in the workbench will speed the things up a lot. With a 030 card expect to comfortably use Workbench with 32 colours or less.

Don't know how?

Go to Prefs drawer and click on screenmode, then move the gauge of the resolution you are using to 32 or less down to 8 colours: less than that will look ugly.

To see if the accelerator is working, hold the right Amiga key (the big A on the right of the space bar) and press E.
Enter "info" (no quotes) in the opened window and press enter. There you'll see if your expansion is working.

amiga 1200 issues

yes did that show mounted disks and vol available

on my workbech screen shows 2MB of chip ram and 32MB of fast ram

when the screen redraws i can seen it redraw slow at times
my colors was at 256 went down to 32

when the screen resets the refresh is very fast all most instant
but when i open it again example go to work the refresh slows down un like when changing resolutions very very fast
or is this what the amiga is designed to do when it is done changing goes back to slow

thanx all way for your guys help

On my stock PAL A1200 working at 640x256@256 (no acceleration whatsoever) refreshing a backdrop of any number of colours (rarely used anything past 16 for both screen mode and backdrop, which's what the default MagicWB backdrop required) with "ResetWB" would take a lil less than a second, whereas booting into WB for the first time or changing the screen mode, had it start loading only after about 4 seconds, but the process of actually refreshing the image was just as fast/slow as when using "ResetWB".

640x512 interlaced modes were twice as slow. Lowering the vertical resolution and the number of colours for the chosen mode would speed things up considerably for me.

Do you save the settings when you change them?

Or you could type "CPU" in the box with no quotes
If your expansion is working then it should say something like "System: 68030 (INST: Cache Burst) (DATA: Cache NoBurst)" But if the first part of the line says "68020" then you have a problem!

The 32 MB RAM showing up means the card is working.

I'd say you have a software problem. Re-install the OS set your screenmode to 16 colors PAL: High res or NTSC:High res.

Try without a backdrop.

Os 3.5 was known to be buggy at the time.

I'd do fresh install of 3.1, and then, install idefix to pick up the DVD burner. (btw I only ever used a CD Burner with IDEfix)

I'm not convinced you have a hardware problem, i think its a software configuration issue.

SCSI.device, is a internal (ROM) driver for IDE controller, so I would remove any devices, like CDROM from DEVS DOSDrivers folder if you are not using the CDROM or any other device that is using scsi.device. When the device is not present, the Amiga is waiting for some time before it gave up and reports error.
