How many buttons are supported on the PSx controller? What about CD32 games?

Nathan at AmigaManiac and Paul Willingham will be working together to provide us with a steady supply of these adapters soon. Keep an eye on www.amigamaniac.com or maybe send him an email to ask when they'll be out.
All the buttons are supported, even the extra buttons can be remapped to perform double-up functions. You can use one analogue stick as a joystick and the other as a mouse if you want. AmigaManiac is located in NSW Australia and provides new hardware expansions, spare parts and a professional Amiga repair service. |

I'm struggling to understand why you'd want one of these.. The D-pad on the Playstation controllers is quite possibly the worst out of any console, and using an analog stick as a digital joystick would be horrible!
A Megadrive or SNES controller adapter would be far better IMO. |

But Megadrive controllers don't have shoulder buttons and I don't know what other DB9 controllers do.

I also like the Snes controller, but forced to pick one over the other, it's the PSX one, any day of the week. So, i guess it's a matter of opinion really. B! |

I think the CD32 D-pad is the most unreliable one: it breaks with no reason other the horrible idea of using plastic needles to keep it in place.

i personally love the psx1 pads and the first generation of the grey dualshock pad. nice buttons etc. the black one with analogue firebuttons is very wobbly and not recommended. and after all it is also very nice to use the analogue stick of the grey dualshock for old school gaming - just give it a try! |

sorry to bump a rather old thread but I'd really love a couple of these adaptors, I want to use my X-Arcade with the CD32 I just bought, but this Paul Willingham guy seems very elusive, does he still sell these adaptors or are they just vaporware?

Sorry but I think the CD32's D-pad is far worse than either of them plus it breaks after about a month or two of regular use. Besides the official Sony pad is only one of many different controllers that can be used with a Playstation.

Personally I think the dreamcasts and n64's are pretty awful. Though I have tried one i think this looks pretty nasty to http://web.mac.com/sebangulo/Pippin/Welcome.html .
I agree I think the 360 has the best controller out there |
