...in the style of Xenon II and Goldrunner.

I'd imagine it was late 80s or very early 90s. You controlled a spaceship and periodically you met a huge silver (?) spaceship that you had to try to destroy.

One random detail I can remember is after it loads you had the choice of choosing either English or Deutsch as your language.

Hmmm... I'm not sure but it could be insanity fight (the logo sort of rings a bell).

It sort of reminds me of this (http://hol.abime.net/2095) because there were predominately orange coloured and blocky backgrounds, but it was much less cartoony.

It was set in space, you weren't flying over land so it wasn't really very much like SWIV.
